Well well, I don't have much to say here, but I feel I should keep up my once-every-couple-of-days updating pattern. I could talk about this new church I've been visiting, but for some reason I'm putting off that entry. Yesterday we had our final business meeting of our old church, in which we decided how to distribute the money from the sale of the building, which hasn't technically happened yet. We wanted to support our pastor in his new job, which is one of those missions-type jobs in which you have to raise support. He'll be training pastors all over the world. We also wanted to fund a church plant in Mexico that one of the missionaries we support is starting. And then there are the various other ministries and missionaries we've been supporting that we wanted to give a parting gift. All we needed to decide was how much to give whom. It was all handled very well, as usual. That's definitely one thing that is being lost in this breakup. That church was made of high quality people ... quirky, but quality. I had some good conversations today on AIM. I won't get into them here. But they were sort of the major event of my day, so I thought I'd mention them. And oh! I almost forgot! I started reading the Silmarillion last night! I've been putting off reading it because I thought it would be boring and hard to read. Well, it is sort of hard to read, but it isn't boring. I'm happy because now I'll know what all the historical references in the Lord of the Rings are referring to. And of course, I will have my Atlas of Middle Earth by Karen Wynn Fonstad with me at all times while reading and probably Enya or some other Celtic person playing in the background. Now I get to go diagram some Greek sentences from Mark. Maybe I will even study some Hebrew so I won't fail the competency test in December. When I said I didn't have much to say at the beginning of this entry, I meant that I didn't have much right at the front of my mind that was begging to be said. I can always drag up things to say. And then more things and more and more. I am probably going home for Thanksgiving, if my brother's friend lets me drive down with them.
