the events of the second half of this week

11-09-02 - 2:40 p.m.

Jason came back on Wednesday on his way back down to Texas, and I was glad to see him again. We went to Wendy's and had a good conversation, and then we went back to the house and loaded his car with all his old stuff that I had put in the basement. I'll probably see him again at Thanksgiving. He still has my hiking boots! ;)

On a more solemn note, my friend's dad died on Thursday. This was the one we made the recording for who had cancer. I was hoping he would still be here for Thanksgiving, but I think we're inviting the rest of the family. That'll be good because I haven't seen them in a while.

I spent several hours Thursday night trying to figure out this website: http://www.8march2003.com/. I got the link off of Art Bell's site. Judging from the observations of people on several message boards, it's probably a hoax or a promotion for something. The story has some gaping holes, some of which are patchable, I think, but others of which are not. In his November 7 update, he (or she) virtually admits he's playing some kind of game. This turns it into a puzzle, which, to me, makes it just as interesting as if it were a conspiracy theory. Maybe I'll write about it on my site, if I get my site started sometime before March 8, 2003!

Oh yes, and then last night I changed my wallpaper at work from Degas' Ballerinas in the Wings, which I inherited from the last person who had this computer, to a Cassini photo of Jupiter. Much better.

And today I've been looking up tons of sources for my Mark exegesis paper. Makes you want to be a grad student, too, doesn't it? While I was doing this, my boss and her friend came in so her friend could film a scene for a class project. But I wasn't in their way, so I just sat here typing while they filmed on the other side of the office. Interesting.
