This week to keep my mind occupied during work (I have one of those semi-mindless desk jobs), I've been listening to old time radio shows off the web. Yes, it sounds hokey and all that, but that's just your preconceptions talking. Okay, some of it is hokey, but still. Go to RadioLovers.com and listen to them. They're great! I listened to Buck Rogers, then a couple of Flash Gordon episodes, which were kind of hard to follow, then some George Burns, who was only sort of funny, then Abbott and Costello, who were hilarious, then a drama called 1,001 Wives, which made me want to cry, and now, my favorite so far ... Adventures by Morse! I had never heard of it before, but it's so engrossing. It does just what I want it to, which is to let me pretend I'm somewhere else. It's a mystery program, and it alternates between 10-episode and 3-episode series. The series I'm listening to now is called "City of the Dead." The story is complicated, and it's a mystery, so I won't tell you anything about it. You'll just have to listen to it.
