today's thrilling update

03-03-03 - 6:42 p.m.

Maybe I should aim for short, frequent entries without much point.

What has been happening in my life? Well.

Sunday (a week ago):

I bought several things at Rare Finds, our local used bookstore, including the Prince of Egypt soundtrack, which I have been listening to a lot, a Samual Barber CD with more than just Adagio for Strings on it, and a tree identification book because I like trees and was feeling nostalgic about this tree identification book I saw in the school library when I was little. I think it might have been the very same book I bought, too.

Monday:

I got in a sort of car accident. I stopped too late for a yield sign just down the street from my house and skidded on the snow halfway into the intersection, causing the other car to swerve, skid, and run over the curb into someone's lawn. The only thing wrong was his front tire, which cost $125 to replace, much to my relief. I should have taken a picture of the tire tracks in the snow. By only a foot or two he missed a yield sign on his right side and a fire hydrant on his left. Everything was handled very calmly and matter-of-factly, for which I am also grateful.

Tuesday:

I found out from Rita, our terrific Graduate Records Analyst, that the other class I'm signed up for this semester is not needed for my degree and I would (obviously) be financially better off dropping it! So the next day I did. One class this whole semester! I've always wanted to try that.

Saturday:

March began, and my monthly allotment of money for food was replenished. This was welcome because a couple of weeks ago I balanced my books and found out that if I were to stick to my budget, I would have $6.37 left for food. Usually I just go over because I can pull the extra money from my "miscellaneous" category, but I wanted to see what I could pull off. And I did it! And I didn't even starve. And I even had $.36 left at the end. Yay me. :)
