This is quite a week! First, I found out this morning that my favorite publisher (InterVarsity Press) has an editorial assistant position open. I was so excited! I figured they'd never have an opening or that I wouldn't be any more qualified for it than for anything else editorial. But I was wrong! If anything I'm overqualified. So just now I e-mailed them my resume. Maybe I'll actually get *gasp* an interview! You know, I haven't had one yet for any of the jobs I've applied for. I was supposed to have one with another publisher last Friday, but the hiring person didn't get back to me about the specific time. But that's okay. I'm sure we'll set one up soon. But IVP takes priority over everything else that I am currently looking at. If they offer me a job, I will accept it instantly. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I'm just shocked that they even have an opening. Entry-level editing jobs don't grow on trees.

Then I found out that my computer shipped on Friday! It'll get here on Thursday! Barring any catastrophes, of course. So Thursday night my brother will be helping me repartition the hard drive (non-destructively, if all goes well) and install Linux on half of it. A pre-installed XP will occupy the other half. Then I will immediately quit my jobs so I can spend all my time watching DVDs and playing video games on my new friend. :)

And of course, my friend John is coming back from Colombia on Tuesday! I will call him on Wednesday, and we will have a four-month long conversation to make up for lost time.
