Grrr. It looks like Livingstone wants to offer me the job, but I want to give IVP a chance, too. I'd really, really like to work there. So I e-mailed the editor at IVP to see how long she thought their hiring process might take. She sent a nice reply but said that the earliest they would be able to interview me would be the week of July 19, if they decided to interview me. I don't know if I can (or should) put Livingstone off for that long. So I'm thinking I'll probably have to go with my second choice. *sigh* So close, yet so far away.

Working at Livingstone would be fun, I think. It's just that I'd feel like my work at IVP would be so much more significant. IVP publishes books I would actually pick up and read, whereas Livingstone publishes (or assists other publishers in publishing) books I would barely even glance at. It seems like all my life I'm waiting, waiting, to get to the part where I'm doing something important. I'm either preparing for important things (school) or just on hold till the right opportunity comes along. Livingstone would definitely give me good publishing experience. The job is diverse, and I would probably be in contact with a lot of different publishers. It's just that I want to work for the advance of knowledge, not the recycling of fluff. Shows you what I think of Christian publishing. I hope nobody at Livingstone reads this! :) Well, at least I'll have my website. That will be significant, to me anyway.

Oh, I'll get over it.
